Edmunds spellers win bee

Edmunds Middle School's seventh- and eighth-grade spelling team outdistanced the competition Saturday to win the Vermont State Spelling Competition in Northfield. The Edmunds team, coached by language arts teacher Ann Park, racked up a nearly perfect score to capture the state title for the second year in a row, missing only one word: eminence.

Burlington's Edmunds school competed against Harwood Middle School in South Duxbury, Irasburg Village School, Manchester Elementary/Middle School and St. Albans Elementary School. All five teams won their respective regional competitions two weeks ago.
