Seahorses upend Rebels, 27-14

In South Burlington, Burlington ended South Burlington's two-year reign as Division II state football champions with a 27-14 win Saturday at Rice Memorial High School.
It not only denied the Rebels another state crown, but a perfect season. They brought a 10-0 record into the game.
The 8-3 Seahorses have their first title since they beat the Rebels in 1999 by a score of 41-14.
Burlington's Andew Plumley, who has been outstanding all season, amassed 100 yards rushing to go with two touchdowns. He was complemented by fullback Riley Lessor, who gained 43 yards and added a TD.
Quarterback Josh Carey passed sparingly but effectively. He was 3-of-4 for 35 yards with a touchdown toss to Michael Carrier.
South Burlington's scores came on a touchdown run by quarterback Keegan McLaughlin and a TD run by Emmanuel Muderwha.
